Allison and I have enjoyed our week together but it will end on New Year's Eve. She will be back in Raleigh studying for End of Class exams ( Jan 17th ). Although my 'break' from employment was unexpected, it allowed alot of time to get things somewhat organized. At least I am not looking at boxes everywhere. I got my letter to restart work on Jan. 7th. Some of those working with me must have gotten a different letter because they won't be back. I am thankful for what I do have and hope for a quick economic turnaround.
Thoughts and prayers in regard to Aunt Nora's passing......
My prayer for each of us is that we find God's blessings in 2009, and that we will find ( or create )more time for each other, and 'others' in need.
Happy Birthday Dad....The cards will be waiting for you at home...enjoy your trip.

Happy Christmas
I always wonder about "merry". So I prefer the English style happy.
Christmas has come and gone. For me it was just another night at work. I hope all the kids got lots of loot and made the cat dance. *Logan, remember the "secret game"? If a small child says, "I've got a secret." and motions an adult to bend closer, it's funny how surprised they look when the child head butts them. Another trick I taught and Logan used it on his great-grandmother.
Yes, I know, I'm a bad person. ;-)
My daughter Alex turns 15 tomorrow. I hope she has a great day. They've been snowed in for about a week.
Eartha Kitt passed away the other day. "Santa Baby" was an interesting Christmas song. (She was the best Catwoman on the old Batman show. )
Another interesting a Christmas song was "Punk Rock Christmas" by the Sex Pistols but....
I hope everybody has a safe and happy New Years. Don't drink and drive!

A message from the oldest brother
Well they asked, so here I am.
I'm starting my fourth year in Iraq. I'd love to be home for the holidays but I just never win the lottery. Plus with the economy as bad as it is......
I'm the uncle nobody wants to talk about. (Just kidding. I hope.) It's not that I don't care for my family. I just like my privacy and I respect theirs.
Currently I plan to do one more year overseas before studying in Australia. I'd like to work there as a counselor, working with kids. Hopefully I'll find a nice lady there who won't think I'm too odd.
I don't drink much. Don't watch sports on TV. I can cook, clean and remember to put the toilet seat back down. My hobbies include (but are not restricted to) reading, anime (Japanese cartoons), history, sociology, hiking, travel, exploring Australia and younger women.
I know some of my family are horrified by those last two. Or maybe just the last one. LOL!
Hey, I don't ride motorcycles any more. I haven't had another tattoo in 22 years. I quit smoking and cut my drinking down to the occasional beer (but I can't drink here). I have to have some bad habits.
I'd love to teach all my nieces and nephews how to make a cat dance. First we make the kitty some special dancing shoes out of foil or duct tape. Then we put the shoes on the cat and put kitty down to do its dance. LOL!
Take care
Allen
